full design service

initial consultation

This is an initial visit to discuss your garden. I gather information about your likes and dislikes, discuss your requirements and look around your garden. Following this meeting, you will receive a letter outlining the brief and the design costs

site survey

I carry out a detailed survey of the garden. The survey shows levels, the position of buildings and other structures, existing planting, trees and any other features. I take soil samples to establish its pH and type

concept design plan

This is the proposed plan and gives a clear indication of how things will look. Its purpose is to act as a point of discussion so that any changes can be made before the final design is prepared

detailed design plan

This is a detailed and accurately scaled drawing of your new garden. It is accompanied by images of particular features and planting ideas to further explain and enhance the design. It will include a lighting design if requested

master plan

This is a plan a contractor will use to cost and build the garden.

It includes written specifications and detailing of the hard landscaping elements such as the type of paving and where to source it from

Usually I work with trusted local landscapers, but am also happy to work with the client's preferred contractor

planting scheme

This shows the recommended plants and their location within the design. An accompanying schedule is provided, listing  names, quantities and sizes of the plants. I am able to source and supply the plants if required

garden build

I am able to monitor the project and liaise regularly with the chosen landscaper, if required

planting

After the garden has been constructed, I am able to carry out the necessary planting.

aftercare

I can supply an easy to follow maintenance guide if requested.

I also offer follow up visits where I can make recommendations to keep the garden looking at its best

garden styling

As an alternative to the full design service, I can offer advice on changing the overall look of the garden without involving costly hard landscaping

This may includes advice on changes to planting, the size and shape of borders or suggestions for new pots, furniture and features

This is a popular service for clients who wish to improve the look of the garden before putting their house on the market

border planting solutions

I can produce planting plans for a border, a particular area or the whole garden

If required, I can incorporate and enhance existing planting within a planting plan

The plan will show the location, size and quantity of the plants.

In addition, I provide a mood board which provide a visual representation of the scheme

I am able to source, supply and plant the scheme if required
